Time Flies When You're Rebuilding

Western North Carolina is one month post-Helene. It's still unimaginably rough here. But there's also been so much good in the initial 30 days of recovery that we at Nolo wanted to share our good news progress report.

We're being ultra-helpable. And the NA Community is rising to the occasion. We're coordinating with every brand we carried in the shop and some we hadn't yet had the opportunity to add to the shelves. And it's incredible. Brands are going absolutely above and beyond to replenish our stock. And gifting swag, which we're excited to get into your hands soon.

Nolo Progress Report Thing 2

You're looking at it. The website was in need of a refresh, and we've taken that on. We've got more to do, but first we needed to shift onto more modern tech. I'm happy to report that work is DONE! Think of it as the foundation work you can't see. Now we can: share events details with you (we're working on dates now), keep you in the Nolo know, and (maybe most importantly) get ecommerce running so you can shop with us in your jammies.

Nolo Progress Report Thing Three

Finding Nolo's new home. It's going to take time, but we're excited to announce some interim locations where we'll offer local pickup windows beginning early November. We'll keep evolving, and your feedback will continue to guide us.

Nolo Progress Report Thing Zero

At the epicenter of our healing is the time we're spending with family and community. Being together is really the most important part of getting better. We're enjoying the beauty of fall, which magically reminded us of our resilience and to let nature be the home of our hearts' repair.

Plus we're working on lazy barkeep recipes. My new favorite couldn't be easier. I call it the ....

I Can't Even [Non-Alcoholic] Bourbon Cocktail

I Can't Even Bourbon

Time to prepare: 17 minutes (15 minutes procrastination, 2 minutes work
  • 2 oz. Non-alcoholic Bourbon Alternative
  • ¼ oz. Lime Juice
  • 4 oz. Your Favorite Ginger Beer (I use Devil's Foot)
  • Lime

Make it

Combine NA Bourbon & lime juice in an ice-filled highball. Top with ginger beer. Give it a single stir. Garnish with lime if you can muster the strength. Sip and feel the waves of accomplishment.

Thanks to everyone who reached out with suggestions on potential pickup locations. We visited all of them (and then some) & can't wait to roll out local pickup. Subscribe (if you haven't already) to our newsletter - it's below - and follow @Hey_Nolo on instagramWe literally couldn't do any of this without all of you.

Cheers from our corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains -
