NØLO Recipe: Tequila Martini
May 02, 2025
This is a big departure from a traditional Martini, but it's a perfect Summer stand-in. We love this recipe because it checks a lot of our heart boxes. Easy to make? Check. Uses nonalc tequila? Check. Allow us to bring vermouth blanco/bianco into the mix? Check.
Trust me, this cocktail is a refreshed homage to the traditional Martini you'll mix up again and again.
The History
This particular recipe is credited to blogger and recipe developer Matt Armato. While Martinis of all shapes and sizes were all the rage in the wild and tempestuous 1980s, most were a huge step away from what makes a martini a martini. This one, though, is closer to the pin, swapping out gin for tequila and adding the zing of citrus to make it all sing.
Make It
- 1.5 oz tequila (blanco or reposado style)
- .75 oz bianco/blanco Vermouth
- .25 oz lemon juice (please make it fresh squeezed)
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Lemon twist for garnish
Add the tequila, vermouth, lemon juice and bitters into an ice-filled shaker and shake well. Double strain into a cocktail glass (we'd choose a coupe or martini glass for this one but you do you). Garnish with a twist of lemon.
Enjoy your good fortune, you mixologist, you!
