NØLO Recipe: The One That Glows in the Dark

Every Halloween gathering needs someone with a party trick.

Enter: The One That Glows in the Dark. This booze-free concoction brings citrus, a little grenadine, and tonic to the glass. Yes, it's charming enough with the lights on. But under a black light? Your glass is positively glowing.

Finally, a cocktail everyone will ask about that won't have you asking, "what happened last night?"

Ingredients

Makes one drink.

  • 3 oz nonalcoholic gin, we love the juniper-forward Monday Gin
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • 1 tsp grenadine
  • 1 handful ice
  • Tonic water, to top

Make It

  • Combine your favorite gin, lemon juice, and grenadine in a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake to mix, then pour into a large glass filled with ice.
  • Top with tonic water and stir gently.

The party trick: The tonic’s quinine glows with a bright, milky-blue color under a black light. You’ll need one (or a bunch) on hand to get the glow.

🍸 Lazy Barkeep Verdict: The black light is extra credit. The cocktail stands on her own with or without the spooky.

Shine on you crazy diamond.
